As a brand, Cadillac is always pushing toward the future. To that end, the new Super Cruise function allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel while they are driving down the road. We here at Young Cadillac of Owosso would like to share how the Super Cruise system works.
Plus, we'll share what current Cadillac vehicles offer Super for you to utilize on a drive across Michigan.
What is Cadillac Super Cruise?
As mentioned, the Super Cruise function allows you to take your hands off the wheel while on a compatible road. The system works in conjunction with the Adaptive Cruise Control that controls your speed and braking when activated. In addition, Super Cruise works with Cadillac-connected services along with sensors, cameras, and advanced LIDAR map data that scans the road ahead.
With the road mapped ahead, drivers can enjoy a relaxed drive across town. To use the system, drivers need first to activate Adaptive Cruise Control. Once that is done, the Super Cruise symbol will illuminate on your dash, letting you know Super Cruise is available to use.
You can then press the Super Cruise button, and a green light will illuminate on your steering wheel. Once you see the light, you can then take your hands off the steering wheel. Keep in mind; the system will disengage if it detects any potential hazards ahead.
